On Sunday evening thousands of demonstrators took to the streets of New York City in protest at the acquittal of George Zimmerman in the Trayvon Martin murder case. Zimmerman shot and killed the unarmed black 17-year-old on the 26th of February, 2012, in Sanford, Florida, and was charged with second-degree murder after a special prosecutor was assigned to the case. The not-guilty verdict has galvanised civil rights activists across the country and angered many. Protests in a few cities are expected. Watch Tim Pool’s live stream from New York City below.
