In September, Madonna and VICE launched Art for Freedom, a global digital initiative campaign designed to fuel free speech—to respond, address and protest persecution and discrimination around the world. Each day we feature an artwork that speaks to human rights; each month Madonna donates $10,000 to a non-profit organization of one feature artist’s choice.
The winner for November, announced on Friday, is Amber Fares for Speed Sisters, a film she is making about the Middle East’s first all-women motor racing team, which has come together in the occupied West Bank:

Art for Freedom launched in September 2013 with guerrilla screenings of Madonna and Steven Klein’s 17-minute film secretprojectrevolution in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, London, Berlin, Toronto, Rome, Paris, Jericho, Rio de Janeiro, and Tel Aviv.
