The 2016 Presidential election inspired a lot of passion on both sides of the aisle, but despite how strongly Americans felt about Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump it didn’t make much of a dent in voter turnout.
Approximately 117 million registered voters didn’t vote in last year’s presidential election. Also, CNN confirmed that voter participation dropped to a historic low in the past two decades with only 55 percent of Americans going to the polls.
