Tod Seelie is one of our favorite photographers. Cerebral Ballzy and the Black Lips are two of our favorite bands. When we found out that Seelie was driving the Ballzy boys around the west coast for a month-long tour we begged him to contribute an exclusive photo tour diary for Noisey. Good news: he caved. Check back over the next few weeks for a visual record as these two sick bands lead a sonic Sherman's March across the western seaboard.

This June, Atlanta's bad boys of garage rock, The Black Lips, are teaming up with the raw energy of Brooklyn's own Cerebral Ballzy to tear a big loop of fun and destruction (cause the two seem to go together, after all) around the western half of the US. You can find the full tour schedule here. I'll be tagging along to bring you the depraved stories & photos of rock n' roll on the road.

As a warm up, I went with Cerebral Ballzy on part of their recent northeast tour with Face 2 Face and Strung Out!. While in Providence we did some exploring of interesting abandoned parts of town, and stayed with the always hospitable Nicholas Chat-field Taylor of Article fame.

And of course, played some shows.

Followed by some big-time stage presence at the Best Buy Theater in Times Square.

The tour will launch in San Diego on June 9th after Cerebral Ballzy's show at the Echo In Los Angeles (6/7/11). Keep en eye here for a lot more to come…
