PC Music affiliate Danny L Harle has shared an unhinged remix of Charli XCX and Lil Yachty's "After The Afterparty" single, available for free download from the English artist's SoundCloud. Where the original is a melancholy, slightly exhausted celebration of non-stop partying—evocative of a pleasantly numb hangover—this remix sounds decidedly like a bad trip. It's clear from the dissonant grunge guitar riff in the intro that things are a bit messier here, and Harle keeps the pressure rising throughout with nausea-inducing funhouse synths, playfully devious vocal edits, and what sounds like a clear will to troll. This isn't Harle's only jump to the pop big leagues: in August, he collaborated with Carly Rae Jepsen on "Super Natural." And yet, since they began making noise just about three years ago, Harle and his crew has been nothing if not divisive. These days, some people are wondering, is it time to pull the plug on PC Music?
