These Shiba Inu Videos Set to “This Charming Man” Are the Only Time the Smiths Have Ever Been Happy

Johnny Marr’s guitar intro to the Smiths’ “This Charming Man” may be the most succinct example of his unique genius with the instrument; singing, harmonized leads breaking apart into jangling clusters of notes in a way that conveys pure joy. Just those opening seconds formed an oasis amidst the delicate, morbid epics like “Reel Around the Fountain” and “Suffer Little Children” that the band initially made their name on. But given how dour the world already is, maybe these aren’t the songs we should be listening to. We should choose happiness beyond our comprehension. We should choose Shibas.

Goddamn that’s a good boy/girl. Just… really one of the best, if we’re being honest.

This glorious page, given the no-brainer name of “Shiba Inu videos to the intro of This Charming Man by The Smiths,” is a sacred place. Here, two great forces of merriment have worked in tandem since December 2016, solely for the purpose of providing brief rays of light in our otherwise dogshit lives.

Yes, the Smiths’ catalogue is a timeless expression of evocative, intellectual teen angst, full of indie rock classics and life-changing scriptures from Morrissey. But to be blunt, Morrissey’s kind of a skid mark, and his sewage opinions have continually run the risk of ruining his former band’s reputation. These dogs are very definitely not skid marks or dinguses of any sort. They are innocent and beautiful, unsullied by any ill will. They are also better at doing human things than humans are, as evidenced below.

AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH I’M GONNA IMPLODE IT’S SO CUTE

Anyways, there’s not much more that can be said about these videos, so I’m going to post a generous amount of them right now. Remember that you can find them all here if you ever need a boost. Please stay happy, everyone.

Phil ceased to exist shortly after this post but he’s extremely content, regardless. He’s on Twitter.
