BC Coach Entices Recruits on National Signing Day with Salt Bae Homage

Steve Addazio has hopped on trends before, and now he's sending up everyone's favorite sensual butcher, the Salt Bae.

You may somehow still be unaware of Instagram sensationNusret Gökçe, a Turkish meat fetishist and full-blown Skinemax vibe-haver who is also the proprietor of steakhouses in Turkey and Dubai. He's a suave sonofabitch who makes raw flesh seem kind of fuckable, in no small part because of his subtle n' sensual salt facials, err sprinkles, at the end. People love the guy, and this bit of sensual slicing has garnered nearly 10 million views.

Even if this is your first introduction to Salt Bae, you surely know where this is heading. Where there's a meme, there's a middle-age man waiting to mess it up. Salt Bae is that meme, and Boston College head coach Steve Addazio is that man.

Addazio, a 57-year-old-man with a fax machine, isn't old at all, actually. He's down with the youths—never more so than on today, national signing day—and he's not afraid to grab hold of a meme and do whatever is necessary to show that he, too, has seen it and knows what it is. Whatever gets recruits to do the only one thing that counts in this life, sign on the line that is dotted. This isn't Addazio's first attempt at having some viral fun with the web clips—you may recall his seminal work "guys being dudes"—and Addazio's Gökçe homage is funny enough as these things go.

Although, for my 45-year-old taste, if Addazio wants to get sexy in an homage to a famous chef, this is the guy. Good taste is always in season.
