Pele And Coutinho Playing Video Games Is A Delight

Video games are hard as shit these days and unless you practice them like a real sport, you’re probably not going to be very good at them. If you’ve never spent any time playing a video game, you’re going to be hilariously awful. Pele and Coutinho, giants in their sport, obviously know their way around a pitch, but ask them to play a video game version and they turn into a pair of confused old granddads. It’s wonderful. 

The two greats got a basic crash course in FIFA 15—press the blue button to shoot, green to pass—and the wheels immediately fell off the wagon when Pele somehow started the game without either knowing. There should be more of these; imagine Terry Bradshaw playing Madden? 

Highlights include Coutinho expressing concern that his “controller will not stop vibrating!” and Pele copping to being a button masher: “I’m going to press this button in order to see what happens.” Pele is also a pretty vicious shit-talker, noting upon seeing the speed of his former teammate “we all know Mengalvio was not that fast, but that’s OK.”
