Last Friday, Warner Bros. released a new 15-second teaser of the upcoming Blade Runner sequel—Blade Runner 2049—introducing a new character played by Robin Wright and promising the release of a new, surely longer, official trailer in just three days time. Well, its been three days, the new trailer is here, and it definitely kicks ass. Following a brief Q&A with director Denis Villeneuve and costars Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford, the new two-minute trailer was released on the film’s Facebook page and on the Warner Bros. YouTube channel.
The new trailer features more highly cinematic shots of rainy urban centers and dystopian wastelands; we are first introduced to a blind Jared Leto, presumably the story’s villain; and there’s talk of a wall that’s keeping the foreseeable world from breaking out into total anarchy. We also see first appearances from actors like Dave Bautista, Mackenzie Davis, and Ana de Armas. Watch the full trailer below:
