Not enough awkward, angsty guitar music in your 2017? Welp, looks like Car Seat Headrest is back to help with that this year! 2018 will see Will Toledo revisit Twin Fantasy, his 2011 Bandcamp album, for a “re-recorded and re-imagined” version, out February 16. As much something for newcomers as it is one for the heads, the release will see Toledo re-examining his past, fan-favorite project, and overcoming the limitations he faced first time around, when he was recording himself on a laptop.
While you wait to hear the full thing, you’ll have to settle for “Nervous Young Inhumans” (which sounds almost, almost Killers-circa-Hot Fuss-y now) and its accompanying video. The split-screen clip was directed by Toledo himself, full of jump-cuts which work alongside the track’s feverish instrumentation. See that above, and prepare your feelings for Twin Fantasy.
