The story behind the ‘CanadaCreep’ Twitter account just got (allegedly) creepier. Last week, a man named Jeffrey Robert Williamson, 42, of Calgary, Alberta was arrested and charged in connection with the creepshot Twitter account that had been operating for about a year. Now, Williamson, who had been released on bail, was re-arrested Friday after investigators found evidence of child porn on devices they seized from him.
Tweets on the ‘CanadaCreep’ account, which was suspended nearly a week ago, commonly featured non-consensual photos or videos of women in public, including up-skirt shots. At least one of the victims of the account was a 14-year-old girl who had a video taken of her that showed her face when she was cosplaying at a comic convention in Calgary.

On Saturday, Williamson was officially charged with possession of child pornography and accessing child pornography. Evidence was found on the multiple terabytes of data police seized during the investigation. These charges are on top of those previously laid during his initial arrest: three counts each of voyeurism and publication of voyeuristic recordings.
Williamson has been banned from Calgary’s downtown core—where many of the creepshot images were taken—according to court documents.
Police praised public help they had from the public. Crackmacs, an online persona that acts as a renegade neighbourhood watch in Calgary, claimed that their followers first identified Williamson and reported him to police.
Williamson is set to appear in court on Monday, June 19. Police say the investigation is still ongoing and that it “is in its early stages.”
