If you’ve ever watched any of Chilly Gonzales‘ masterclass videos on YouTube, in which the Canadian composer breaks down the making of pop songs, then you know he’s incredibly knowledgeable about music and a highly entertaining personality. Apparently the people behind Beats 1 feel the same way, because he’s the latest artist to be given a radio show, which he’s dubbed (in typically tongue-in-cheek fashion) “Music’s Cool.”
The first episode focussed on the work of Daft Punk (Gonzales previously featured on the French duo’s 2013 album Random Access Memories), with the musician covering their 2001 single “Something Like Us,” and guest appearances by Tiga and Boys Noize.
