The Cooper Hewitt Design Triennial is open to the public today, and Instagram is already ablaze with the hunters and gatherers of the show’s most net-friendly offerings. With a broad theme of “Beauty,” the fifth installment of the Triennial attracted 63 top designers and artists in many fields, bringing over 250 diverse works to the Cooper Hewitt Design Museum.

The top five exhibits on Instagram seem to be Neri Oxman’s Project G3DP 3D-printed glass lamps, Humans Since 1982’s kinetic clock sculpture A Million Times, Jenny Sabin’s PolyThread PavilionThe Afreaks Bestiary by The Haas Brothers, and Björk collaborator Maiko Takeda’s bristled headgear. If you’re hunting for Insta-gold, these are safe bets, but there are dozens of other amazing projects from The Creators Project favorites, including Vincent Morisset, Studio JobTheUnseen, Jólan van der Wiel, and Iris van Herpen.

Each artist within the Beauty exhibit is categorized within one of seven ephemeral categories: extravagant, intricate, ethereal, transgressive, emergent, elemental, and transformative. Below, check out more examples of stunning art and design fitting all of those descriptions and more. Leave your own linguistic embellishments in the comments.
