Like most people, DJs and producers have specific songs tied to events throughout their lives. In Crate Expectations, we extract a playlist from their memories to tell their story. This week’s subject: Brodinski.
THUMP: What’s the first song you ever loved?

What are the first two songs you ever mixed together?
Lil Wayne’s “6 Foot 7 Foot” and Ginuwine’s “Pony.” It’s my classic mix at the rap parties.
What’s your worst guilty pleasure song?
I have several of them, and each year my guilty pleasure is one of those super mainstream tracks made by a famous singer. This year, it’s this new Katy Perry song with Juicy J.
What song have you had on repeat in the last month?
Young Thug Feat. Skooly, “Every Morning.” This is a banger.
Which track of your own do you like the most?
I think it’s the last one, with Theophilus London, called “Gimme Back the Night.”
Which track of your own do you hate the most?
Pretty much ALL of them six months after they’re released [laughs].
What track are you most excited to play out on tour with the Bromance crew?
There’s a Jeroen Search track called “The Future Is Ours” that I haven’t played in a minute. I love the title, too.
What’s the last song you want to hear before the lights go on?
James Blake, “Retrograde,” or Philip Glass “Closing.”
