David August Drops a Pair of Heavenly Cuts on Counter Records

That fresh-faced guy, reliably bouncing in the booth behind a slew of controllers? That’s David August. The 24-year-old German producer just released a new single, “J.B.Y. / Ouvert,” a heavenly pair of cuts taking influence from IDM, filtered through an ethereal landscape, which you can stream below.

For the past two years, the Hamburg, Germany native has put out a handful of releases on Solomun’sDiynamic Music imprint, and remixed Max Cooper and The Acid. More recently, August was signed to Âme & Dixon’s Innervisions label, where he released the glorious Epikur EP back in 2014.

Now based in Berlin, August has earned his name as a composer as well as a producer, recently collaborating with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, and completing a tour as the David August Ensemble, utilizing live vocalists, harpists, guitarists and drummers to expand his capacities in the live setting.

“J.B.Y. / Ouvert” is out now on Counter Records. August has also announced a 14-date tour along with Axel Boman, Gerd Janson, Leon Vynehall, Acid Pauli, and others.
