DON’T Have Coined the Sound of the Season with “Waste Sad Time”

Are you ready to hear the first slow, incantatory, autumnal pop song of 2015? Great! Because we’re premiering it right now. Breezing through with an unhurried ode to anxiety that straddles the grace of Galaxie 500 and the melodic sensibilities of Elliott Smith, Leeds-based four piece DON’T (featuring members of Bruising) are everything you need to keep afloat in a season of burnt leaves, pumpkin-spiced everything, and perpetual condensation.

“Waste Sad Time” is taken from their self-titled debut EP out at the end of this month, which was recorded over a handful of Sunday afternoons. Singer and guitarist Patrick Jones says: “The lyrics came about just after I graduated and I was obsessed with T.S. Eliot’s four quartets. ‘Waste Sad Time’ comes from the last two lines of ‘Burnt Norton’: ‘Ridiculous the waste sad time, | stretching before and after.”
