Fyre Festival employees are still getting screwed a year later

It was almost a year ago when Fyre Fest attendees arrived in the Bahamas for what they thought was going to be a luxury music festival but ended up as something closer to a refugee camp with EDM DJs. But the well-heeled fest-goers who paid thousands for the multiday event weren’t the only ones affected by the scam. Employees of the shady company and its contractors were counting on a paycheck. And for many of them, the damage continued long after the disastrous weekend camping experience.

Here’s what happened to Darrel Thorne, a Brooklyn-based performer and costume designer who was contracted by Fyre Festival. Thorne says he’s still owed $24,000.
