Glass Gang Sheds Their Slick New Wave for a Combative Mix of Hard-Hitting Club Tracks

Brooklyn-based electronic trio, Glass Gang, have shed their usual affinity for slick new wave with a combative mix of hard-hitting dance tracks. On the mix, aptly titled Club Mix 1, the group drops a disparate range of sounds, from the dark synth work of Burial, to the infectious bass-driven beats of dancehall greats Konshen & J Capri. In stark contrast to their earlier work, the new set is guided by a more relentless tempo that feels like a well-calculated and practiced drill.

The three-piece shared a few words with THUMP over email regarding the intention behind their eclectic mix: “[It’s] a bunch of hard ass jams that make us want to fucking party. The current culture of nostalgia in music and art is addicting, yet isn’t fully satisfying. With that in mind, we tried to pick tracks that feel the craziest and freshest.” Check it out below.
