Eighty-four-year-old Gisela Allen, the UKIP candidate for Glasgow Council, has admitted she finds the gorillas at her local zoo sexually attractive.
Gisela’s rather unconventional sexual preference – for an immigrant animal, no less – emerged as she argued that gay people should keep their sexuality a secret and that the gay community does not exist.

“I am not anti-gay – but how can you call that a community? Sex life is everybody’s private affair,” she told the Sunday Herald over the weekend. “You do not come out and declare openly. Do you think I am going all over the city and saying my idea of a sexually-attractive creature is a gorilla? When I go to a zoo and I see a gorilla my hormones go absolutely crazy. I find a gorilla very attractive.”
Ms Allen is not the first UKIP member to conflate bestiality with homosexuality, but she seems to be the first to suggest she opposes gay culture as a means to save her from herself, and what she may do to a gorilla.
In a separate interview Gisela also proposed reinstating the death penalty: “It doesn’t necessarily have to be hanging. You could have the guillotine. I think the public is entitled to protection,” she said.
She also doubled-down on her enthusiasm for the animal kingdom, saying: “It’s very important children work with horses and ride horses.”
