If the dead can dance, surely they can drink.
That’s the theory, at least, behind the Black 75—a cocktail concocted by the Fairmont Banff Springs hotel in Alberta, Canada.

See, the Fairmont—which bears a haunting resemblance to the Overlook Hotel from The Shining—has a ghost on its hands. According to Fairmont bartender Joe Ruhland, she’s the spirit of a bride who fell down the stairs, somehow became engulfed in flames, and passed away.
A shitty day for her, to be sure.
That’s why Ruhland made the Black 75—a twist on the classic French 75. It gets its blood-red color from the addition of fresh blackberries, which balance out a boozy base of gin and Champagne.
If you perished in the flames on your wedding day, you’d probably need one stat.
