On August 21, the developers behind 2017’s genuine phenomenon, the Battle Royale-influenced PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, announced the game had sold eight million copies. A little more than two weeks later, the game’s topped that number, bringing the game’s total—in Early Access, no less—to 10 million.
By comparison, Breath of the Wild had sold 3.92 million, as of Nintendo’s last reporting in late July. Battlegrounds launched several weeks after Nintendo’s ambitious (and amazing) open world game.
