We Got the Exclusive on Munro's Newest Release

“BYOG (Crown Heights)” is a warm reminder of why we love summer.

Munro's inaugural address, premiered exclusively here on THUMP, seems less of a statement than an invitation. Warm drums and a little brotherly love draws you into the slow-mo sunrise groove that lays the foundation for "BYOG (Crown Heights)," one-half of his first release on the Vancouver based label, XVI Records. With nothing but the budding spore of an Internet presence (see a sub-100 Facebook page and an empty SoundCloud), all we know of Munro is contained within the sound he created for this initial recording. Somewhere between the deep muses of Dr. Dru and the hip-hop bounce of Kaytranada you get this: A curiously lush space reserved for the smoothest corners of an urban landscape.
