Anushka Sharma Doesn’t Check Her Texts and Amitabh Bachchan is Upset

So of course, he took to Twitter.

With over 60,000 tweets, there’s no doubt Amitabh Bachchan is a prolific social media user. Sure, he does seem enamored with his own visage, and uses Twitter to test out new catch phrases (and before you doubt Badoomba never caught on, it's a song in his new movie) and apply for work. And that’s not even getting into the fact he numbers his tweets, each of them a unique page in the Bachchan Bildungsroman.

You’d think a man who’s releasing a film this Friday ( 102 Not Out, with Rishi Kapoor), not to mention managing several endorsements would have little time to manage his social media personally, but clearly he does.

But Senior Bachchan’s latest dispatch—expressing concern Anushka Sharma might be ignoring his text messages—has us truly concerned.

The Big B seemed a little hurt that Sharma didn’t acknowledge his birthday greetings. Like many a grumpy grandaunt, this is a common theme for Shahenshah (he followed up a birthday message to Ranveer Singh with a tweet too). He also slid in a compliment—geez, tell her to smile while you’re at it.

Bachchan’s fear of being dismissed by Sharma goes back three years:

It’s a sad to imagine the nation’s biggest movie star, sitting on his couch, watching IPL, complaining to Vodafone about service, checking his phone for new messages and then tweeting about being ignored. But here we are.

But not everyone feels the same way. An account on Twitter, @shalu_singh doesn't seem to think this is the response of a grumpy septuagenarian but indicative of something more. The account has replied to the original tweet 13 times with pictures of condoms featuring his endorsements, tagging Bachchan and Sharma. #Badumbaaa
