Listen to Horse Jumper of Love’s Self-Titled Debut and Enjoy the Meta-Weirdness

Every once in awhile you find a band and you just think “lmao what the fuck is this,” but in a way that conveys excitement. Enter Horse Jumper of Love, a slow rock trio from Boston who write songs evocative of Explosions in the Sky, early Radiohead and that feeling you get on Monday mornings when you’re not really sure where you are or why you’re still in the shower, but there you are.

What jumped out at me the most about this band was, no pun intended, their name. You’ve got to have balls to make music like this and call yourself that (if someone could fill me in on what that means, please do). And balls they have, as this is a trio of three dudes, Jamie Vadala-Doran, Dimitri Giannopoulos and John Margaris.
