Matt Jones hit his tee shot wide left on the par-four ninth hole at Whistling Straits and it landed under the hospitality tents alongside the hole. After tracking down the ball and conferring with officials, Jones decided to hit it from the blue planks under the tents and managed to hit it right on the rough around the green.
Just listen to that sweet sound. He chipped out of the thick rough and left himself a 12 foot putt to save par, but it just skidded past the cup and Jones wound up with a bogey.

Jones’s little adventure was reminiscent of Phil Mickelson’s shot out of the tent at the Barclays almost exactly a year ago. Let’s hope Jones doesn’t completely mimic Phil’s experience, though, because FIGJAM did it again the next day. Especially since he’s currently in second place at 14 under, trailing Jason Day by two strokes.
