Most Vital: Tiësto Speaks, Mike Mago Returns and Alesso Loves Kylie

Golden Records

Since winning his first ever Grammy on Sunday, Tiësto‘s acceptance speech has made some bloggers and Facebook commenters wince for its lack of crowd response. Those who were there know how strange the place is and that this speech was less for the room but more for us across the internet. Also, what is that music?

Clean Bandit and Jess Glynne, however, were adorable smiles and thank-yous in the aftermath of their win over Disclosure who have now been nominated twice for a Grammy but have yet to win. Still, earlier this week, their homies Sam Smith, Jimmy Napes, and Tourist cleaned up thanks to Smith’s “Stay With Me,” which Tourist and Napes co-wrote and co-produced. Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins produced the version of the tune that won Record of the Year, so (oddly) he picked up a trophy too.

As Valentine’s Day approaches, we sent one of our own to the nether regions of the internet in search of love. What he found was nothing close to love at all at Tastebuds.fm, an online dating site for music nerds. Instead, he delved further into the unending pit of loneliness that is the internet.

Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso, Snapchat Biker Dudes

In conjunction with Snapchat’s rollout of their Discovery platform, we premiered the Axwell / Ingrosso comeback video this week, and the world went kinda nuts. For those on the West Coast, LED annouced it’s docket of performers for its off-site Coachella parties, Day Club, which will feature Porter Robinson, CHVRCHES, and busy boy Skrillex yet again.
