MovieDNA: Every Frame Of A Movie On One Canvas

You can watch an entire movie in a single gif, but you can’t put that gif on your wall without feeling queasy every time you walk past (let us know if you prove us wrong). The better option in film compression is MovieDNA, a project started by two English movie enthusiasts who “dabble in graphic design.” They extract every frame of a movie, compress them, and put them in chronological order, resulting in an impressionistic gestalt of a film. The Matrix and Pulp Fiction seem especially accurate, though each design conjures vivid memories of its movie.

The makers of MovieDNA are on Kickstarter, and they’re taking movie requests. Email them to get Blue is the Warmest Color on canvas, ASAP.
