Buckle up, because soon you might be able to ride in real Mario Karts, fly Samus’ gunship, and eat Jigglypuff-shaped cotton candy, because today Nintendo and Universal Studios announce a partnership that will bring the the gaming titan’s iconic intellectual property into the IRL world of theme parks. The official announcement is in line with other efforts from Nintendo to broaden the horizons of the beloved worlds they’ve created, like the rumored Legend of Zelda TV show, but details about any planned attractions are sparse. All they’ve revealed is that they’re, “creating spectacular, dedicated experiences based on Nintendo’s wildly popular games, characters and worlds,”—but Wired reports that more information is on its way.
In the meantime, all we can do is imagine what kinds of experiences the company’s four decades of game design will produce, like a Donkey Kong log ride, a Star Fox space simulator, and a spooky Majora’s Mask-themed haunted house. Honestly, if there’s no Rainbow Road rollercoaster, we’re not going.
