We’ve still got our fingers crossed for a Studio Ghibli theme park, but in the meantime the Ghibli Museum will have to do. And the next, next best thing? This amazing 1:250 papercraft replica, realistic down to the Totoro ticket counter, now offered in the 15-year-old museum’s gift shop. Rocket News did an in-depth analysis of the replica’s accuracy, complete with side-by-side comparisons to photos of the actual museum, and their verdict is, “Looking at the replica makes us want to shrink in size and live inside it.” We agree.
The pre-made museum model costs a whopping $690, although you can save a bit of money by purchasing a DIY kit with a significantly lower price tag of $168, and a significantly longer construction period which is estimated to take about a month.
