Trance icon Paul van Dyk shared an impassioned single “Everyone Needs Love” today, featuring Dutch producer Ronald Van Gelderen as well as American singer/songwriters Gaelan and Eric Lumiere. The track finds the quartet of artists exploring a pretty universal theme, stated clearly in the title, with an undiluted dose of urgent euphoria. Gaelan and Lumiere’s duet-style vocal has a distinctly breathless quality, and they employ transcendent imagery to convey their message: “We’re all worthy of a brighter sun/And everyone needs love.”
Van Dyk told THUMP via email that the track emerged from a challenging learning process that occurred on a personal level. “As much as I thought I understood love, I’ve learnt considerably more these last nine months,” he said. “In more ways than I could have imagined, love made a battle worth fighting. Had it not been there for me, I’m not sure I’d be here today.”

In 2015, the artist told us about how he finds renewal through collaboration, a theme that’s certainly fitting considering the extensive cast of “Everyone Needs Love.”
