Pharrell Is Writing a “Happy” Book for Kids

In a happy turn of events, Pharrell Williams is trading Top 40 Hits for Best-Seller lists. The award winning music mogul, who seems to dabble in just about everything else, is becoming an author. According to the Associated Press, the artist has just signed with Putnam Books for Young Readers for a series of children’s picture books that feature photographs of kids from across the globe “celebrating what it means to be happy.”

Williams’ first book in the series, Happy, will tell a tale inspired by the Grammy-Award winning tune which hopped its jaunty way to Top Ten lists back in 2013. It’s scheduled to publish on September 22nd of this year with a 250,000 copy run, and according to his agreement with Putnam, we can look forward to a total of four more installments of Pharrell’s illustrated adventures.
