A Rihanna Tweet Inspired This Demonic Digital Art

Every Saturday, The Creators Project premieres a new issue from net art platform and artist collective, FELT Zine .

Back in 2012, Rihanna sent out a simple yet powerful tweet that read, “Fuck U Satan!!! Fuck right off!!!!!” This amazing spout of passion ultimately went on to inspire the title of the net art series in this week’s 27th issue of FELT Zine. Not Today Satan is a new collection of sinister digital compositions by SwS, a digital arts duo made up of two sisters: Pirate Sheep and Fluff Lord. After years of living together and reading each other thoughts, the sisters have developed a workflow that operates like conversation, but instead of words they use complex graphics.

In this series, the two are announcing a new set of themes that revolve around good and evil, depression, emotion, and femininity. SwS tells Creators the work was influenced by their grandmother and the superstitions she was raised with growing up in a small town in the Mediterranean. “We are using all these Christian themes because we were born into that religion and can’t (and won’t) escape it. We want to reclaim our right to express our thought about what’s good and enrich it with our values found outside of conservative Christian views.”

This issue comes attached with a special remix of a Rihanna tune by baby.destiny II (FUCK 12). Listen to the track below:
