My friend once told me a story about how, after breaking up with his secondary school girlfriend, he found himself crying along to Kelly Clarkson on a bus through Central London. He didn’t choose Kelly as the soundtrack to his heart breaking. It just sort of happened. Just like how relationships sort of happen until they break away and all the sort of’s are left in little tiny broken pieces of bloodied heart on the ground.
The point I’m trying to make is that, despite the option of choice, people tend to drift away. And it’s this romantically fuelled driftwood sound that Ghostpoet is clinging on to with his new track “Meltdown”, the first to be taken from his sophomore album Some Say I So I Say Light.
