Over the last decade, the UK-born nightlife institution Sankeys has expanded beyond its roots in Manchester, opening a monthly pop-up in London, and a permanent outpost in Ibiza. But their foray into Manhattan proved unsuccessful, forcing the club to shut down less than a year after its opening. Now, two months after the closure, the nightlife brand is trying to break into the New York City market once more—this time, with a new location in Brooklyn.
In a press release, David Vincent, the owner of Sankeys, commented on the particular difficulty of replicating the Sankeys vibe in America:

“In true Sankeys style our venues in Manchester & Ibiza struggled… mainly due to the location and it has always been a challenge. New York has been no different – so I take this as good omen. This time we are relocating key personnel from Ibiza which will ensure the club, which is now located in a more appropriate part of NY, will immediately come across as a Sankeys.”
Sankeys Brooklyn will open its doors with a massive Tribal Sessions party on Halloween. The soirée will host a five-hour set by the original Sankeys resident and Tribal legend Greg Vickers, who will make his NYC debut alongside Jozef K and Jkriv.
“New York will see the real Sankeys now… it really is a new beginning for us,” said Vincent.
