Some Dude Stage Invaded the People’s Choice Awards to Announce: “Yeezy Jumped Over the Jumpman”

If an event is televised and someone doesn’t crash the stage and do something blog worthy, did it even happen? Ever since Kanye West interrupted Taylor Swift while she was giving her acceptance speech at the VMAs in 2009 and spilled Beyonce’s whole truth, random acts of mic hijacking have become awards show de rigueur. But none have been as weird as the one we saw during last night’s People’s Choice Awards.

A man who has since been identified as Zacari Nicasio—but People’s Choice have chosen to refer to as “some weird dude”—rushed the stage and grabbed the mic while the hosts of The Talk were giving their acceptance speech. He stated his name, plugged the new Kevin Gates album real quick, then declared, “Yeezy jumped over the Jumpman”—which wouldn’t even make Kanye himself look up had it happened at the MTV or BET awards or something, but it seems weird that the world’s sole Kevin Gates stan chose to cut up Sara Gilbert to shout out what is arguably Kanye West’s worst song during an award for a daytime TV show. To be honest, he doesn’t even seem that committed to his decision either. It feels more like his mate dared him to do it and he just kinda stepped up there gingerly, instantly regretted it, decided “Oh well, I’m up here now,” and blurted out the first two pop culture references he could think of.

Anyway, award recipient Sheryl Underwood was fuming and was all like: “You’re not gonna pull no Steve Harvey up in here,” which is either a bad reference to the comedian announcing the wrong winner of Miss Universe the other day or she forgot Kanye West’s name. Luckily there wasn’t enough time to laugh anyway because Sharon Osborne literally kicked the guy in the butt repeatedly until he left the stage.

Watch below, I guess.
