If we asked you to name five Swedish dance music acts other than Robyn or Swedish House Mafia, could you do it? Most of you probably couldn’t. We’ll have you know that despite its lily-white reputation, Sweden is actually a musically diverse little country with a big output.
The neutral bastion of Vikings has a prolific “global bass” scene; underground techno artists abound; electronic pop is unstoppable; and urban music is adored. So before you write the Scandinavian nation off as land of the EDM replicas and radio pop, take a listen to some of these other artists doing big things out there.
