Vimeo hopped on the 360° video bandwagon this month, opening up a venue for a bunch of new interactive content, including this timelapse video project by Swiss filmmaker Christian Mülhauser. Helvetia by Night 360 is a short film that fully immerses the viewer in the aerial rocky terrain of the Swiss mountains. Mülhauser is no newcomer to the timelapse format, his dynamic videos of the Swiss countryside have garnered hundreds of thousands of views, earning him a Vimeo Staff Pick and nearly 3,000 followers on his channel. Helvetia by Night 360 marks his first venture into 360° video. Between June and September of last year, he shot a total of 55,000 photographs of the dazzling night sky using four separate mirror reflex cameras. The video features footage from eight different locations in central and western Switzerland, including the amphitheater like Creux du Van and Mount Pilatus, the massif that overlooks the city of Lucerne. The result is a comprehensive and assorted look at the natural beauty of Switzerland.
