The Creators Project: Beijing 2012 Overview

Our third Beijing event at the UCCA kicked off on Saturday the 8th, with performances that evening from bands like Real Estate and The Chromatics, alongside Beijing electronic legends FM3, Shanghai rockers Duck Fight Goose, and Beijing experimental group CNdY. Former LCD SOUNDSYSTEM frontman James Murphy DJed, plus we screened the LCD film SHUT UP AND PLAY THE HITS.

Chris Milk‘s The Treachery of Sanctuary and SuperUber‘s OctoCloud made their Chinese debut, and Vega Zaishi Wang premiered her new fashion line, presented in collaboration with UFO Media Lab with music by Zhang Shouwang. Shanghai musician and visual artist B6 and neon painter Kong Lingnan exhibited brand new work, in addition to Yang Yongliang‘s The Day of Perpetual Night, and new work from our Beijing Hackathon 2012 Winners. Visitors engaged with the interactive Instagram feed in Intel Labs and Social Print Studio‘s #Creators# Live.
