NASA Probe Juno Enters Jupiter’s Orbit
NASA spacecraft Juno successfully made it into Jupiter’s orbit late Monday night. A successful engine burn maneuver prompted an outbreak of applause among the space agency’s ground controllers. US College Student Found Dead in Rome
A 40-year-old homeless man has been charged with murder, accused of killing American college student Beau Solomon in Rome. Solomon’s body was discovered in the Tiber River. The 19-year-old sophomore, set to study at John Cabot University, disappeared hours after arriving in Rome at the end of last week.—NBC News
City Apologizes to Man Falsely Accused of ISIS Connection
The city of Avon, Ohio, has apologized to an Emirati man who was falsely accused of pledging allegiance to ISIS. Ahmad al-Menhali, 41, was detained at gunpoint last week after a hotel employee called 911 and said he had heard the man “pledging allegiance” to ISIS. The hotel, the police chief, and mayor of Avon have all apologized for the mistaken claim.—ABC News

Suicide Bomber Kills Four Near Saudi Holy Site
A suicide bomber has killed four security officers and injured five others near one of Islam’s holiest sites in the Saudi city of Medina. The bomber detonated his explosives when stopped outside the burial place of the Prophet Mohammad. Thirty Alleged Drug Dealers Killed in Four Days in Philippines
Police in the Philippines say 30 “drug dealers” have been killed since Rodrigo Duterte was sworn in as Philippine president on Thursday. The police announced the seizure of nearly $20 million worth of narcotics, but Duterte’s advocacy of extrajudicial killings has sparked concern and anger from legal advocates.—VICE News
Italian Police Arrest 23 Alleged People-Smugglers
Police in Italy have arrested 23 individuals accused of being part of a network smuggling people into Europe illegally across the Mediterranean. Most of the 23 were Eritrean, but one Italian man thought to be in charge of moving migrants from Rome to northern Europe was also arrested.—The Guardian
