California garage bands Audacity and together Pangea have taken advantage of their longtime friendship with the release of a killer split seven-inch on Los Angeles label Wink and Spit. “We’ve been listening to [Audacity] and playing with them for so long; they’re the best dudes,” said together Pangea frontman William Keegan. This record bumps like the best house party you’ve ever been to. We’re talking red cups on the lawn, weed on the coffee table, and naked people in the pool. It’s an unrelenting symphony of electric guitar and kiss off lyrics that prove neither of these bands give a flying fuck about what you think. Audacity kicks the record off with the bangin’ “I’m Not Like You,” a triumphant, riffy track that has one hand flipping the bird and the other clutching a shot of tequila. Then, together Pangea mellows things out with the bass-driven “No Oz,” a b-side from the band’s 2014 breakout LP Badillac. According to the band, “No Oz” didn’t “fit the mood on Badillac,” so it found a home on this limited pressing. Preorder the seven-inch (with digital download) here. Audacity and together Pangea are both on tour this month. Stream the record and check out the dates below.
