NYC’s Tom Noble is a busy guy. When he’s not running the great record store Superior Elevation and the label of the same name, you’ll often find him spinning wax in the city’s best DJ booths. When he’s not doing that, he’s crafting brilliant edits and tracks that grace sets across the world. This weekend he’ll be in selector mode with an appearance at the new Brooklyn party Baby’s Big Disco. An offshoot of a similarly named disco-focused party, Little Disco NYC, residents Ashburn Davis and Kyle Meagher (a.k.a KLM) have moved their new shindig to beloved local haunt Baby’s All Right. They’re donating a portion of the party’s proceed to causes they believe in, like the ACLU.
“Like so many before us, we are heavily inspired by the late David Mancuso’s Loft parties, the music, and the culture that was born from it,” the residents to THUMP over email about the impetus of the night. “We want to continue in that tradition, cultivating a community that emphasizes inclusiveness and giving, just as much as receiving. Everyone is welcome.” A good attitude if we’ve ever heard one, it’s all getting warmed up today with a new, unsurprisingly disco, funk, and smooth house-focused studio mix from Tom Noble, who will play this weekend’s party alongside the aforementioned residents, Prince Language, Natasha Diggs, and Zephyr Ann. Grab a ticket if you like good vibes and fun.
