This Timeline Shows How Many Beloved Nightclubs the UK Has Lost in the Last Three Years

This week Islington Borough Council revoked the licence of fabric—one of the best known and beloved nightclubs in the world. But it would be wrong for us act like this is the first travesty. This problem goes way further than fabric, and way further than London. UK nightlife is being deliberately scrubbed from the map. Plastic People, the Roadhouse, the Arches—club culture is on its last legs, and if we don’t act soon every beloved club in the country will soon be gone. The below images are a simple way of illustrating exactly what’s happened. Three years, ten clubs and the face of a nation changing for the worse.
