According to the Guardian, UEFA is discussing a change in format for the Champions League. The change could “involve cutting the group stage to 16 teams” and incorporating two mini-leagues, where teams each play 14 games.
The Danish Superliga Randers has been embroiled in a cuckolding scandal over the last week. Jonas Borring has left the club after it was revealed team captain Christian Keller is in a (now public) relationship with Borring’s wife.
Orlando City SC has signed another once-great Brazilian attacker, Julio Baptista, who was out of contract after most recently playing for Brazilian side Cruzeiro. Will he also dominate in MLS? (Probably!)
According to BILD and various other tabloids around Europe, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is the subject of a bid from the Chinese Super League that would pay him 75 million (!) euros a year.
Fresh allegations out of Portugal suggest there was some vote buying that took place ahead of the decision to give Euro 2004 to Portugal. (Link in Portuguese)
Today, former Sunderland soccer player Adam Johnson was sentenced to six years in prison after being convicted of sexual activity with a child. Apparently the FA has taken away his caps, which I didn’t know was possible.

Juan Martin Del Potro has been back for several weeks now and has yet to hurt himself, which is good news for tennis, but probably bad news for other male tennis players. Yesterday at the Miami Open, he beat fellow Argentine Guido Pella 6-0, 7-6 (5)
