A 2,600-mile journey is captured in 2,600 selfies in filmmaker Andy Davidhazy‘s new video documenting his 2013 hike from Mexico to Canada. Over the course of the five-month trek along the Pacific Crest Trail, Davidhazy snapped a photo of himelf at every mile marker and stitched the resulting 2,600 selfies into the four-minute timelapse you can watch above. According to his blog, the process was tedious and distracting, but apparently humans can get used to nearly anything. “After awhile walking miles is just like clock work. A mile almost always took me 18-22 minutes to hike,” he writes. He released 2600 MILES IN 4 MINUTES to bring attention to a short film about the hike’s aftermath to be released this summer. Lost or Found: Life After Hiking 2600 Miles from Mexico to Canada on the Pacific Crest Trail will follow “Just Andy” as he copes with civilization after living in the wilderness for five months. This timelapse is a quick sprint through that period, telling a story through Davidhazy’s growing beard and slimming cheeks.
