The Avalanches have posted a mysterious new teaser video that suggests we can expect their new album sooner rather than later.
“Since They Left Us” features archived footage of the band as well as Danny Brown, Father John Misty, Royal Trux’s Jennifer Herrema, and Ariel Pink talking about the new album.

“It’s been fifteen years since the first, last and only Avalanches record,” says Herrera. “I will believe it when I see it.”
When asked of his involvement in the new album Father John Misty, looks at his phone and asks, “What are the Avalanches?”
The film ends with a title card advertising a new film called Since They Left Us: What Ever Happened To The Avalanches? “coming soon… hopefully.” It’s all very mysterious. It’s all very the Avalanches.
Having already announced their return to live performance including an appearance at Primavera next week, we get the feeling that the follow up to their landmark 2000 debut Since I Left You could drop at any time.
