Lil Tay, the rude, nine-year-old Instagram star often seen flashing hundreds in luxury cars, loves to claim she’s the “youngest flexer of the century!” But recent reports have cast that claim into question.
While Lil Tay’s videos, shared with her 1.8 million Instagram followers, appear to take place in Beverly Hills and other parts of Los Angeles, it was recently revealed that her mother is a Vancouver real estate agent who was fired from her job at Pacific Evergreen Realty.

Jim Lew, director of business development for Pacific Place Group, confirmed to VICE last week that Tian was no longer with the company. But Lew told Daily Hive that she resigned before she was fired by David Yang, managing partner of Pacific Evergreen Realty. And why would Yang want to fire Tian?
Speaking to Global News, he said Tian featured his Mercedes 500 SL in one of Lil Tay’s videos without telling him.
In the video, Tay is holding a wad of cash in a parking lot, while addressing “broke ass haters.”
“This shit cost me $200,000,” she says, rocking a jacket that clearly still has its tag attached. “I’m only nine years old, I ain’t got no license, but I still drive this sports car bitch. Your favourite rapper ain’t even doing it like Lil Tay.”
Yang told Global Tian asked if her son and daughter could take a photo with his sports car.
“I didn’t realize she was filming for Instagram,” he said.
According to the National Post, Lil Tay also passed off a $3.6 million penthouse as her own when was actually the site of an open house her mom hosted. She claimed the home is in Beverly Hills, but it’s in Vancouver.
Yang told the Post using the client’s home without permission is a “no-no.” He noted Tian drives an “ordinary Japanese car.”
“Everything in my bathroom costs more than your rent,” Lil Tay says in the video of the home. “This is my closet, everything in here be designer, Gucci, Louis, Versace.” She goes on to tell her followers she used to be “broke as hell” as six-year-old growing up in Atlanta, but then she started “working hard, moving bricks.”
It definitely seems like Lil Tay is working hard to maintain her facade, but it’s not clear who is putting her up to it.
In an Instagram post from Saturday, Lil Tay takes on her haters by kicking in the side of a car to prove it’s not rented.
“Lil Tay rich and finna get richer,” she shouts. OK then.
