What’s it like inside the colorful and playful world of animator/illustrator/sculptor Mike Perry? It’s a punctuated, fun, wacky, and dreamlike wonderworld where all of the artist’s thoughts come alive through illustrations, paintings, and colorful conversations. The Creators Project got a look at the artist’s day-to-day experiences, inspirations, and processes. From his infatuation with naked bodies and the bright hues he uses to paint them, to his psychedelic point of view, we get an inside look at Perry’s studio. We found out how his work on Broad City and on his own original animated series has allowed him full idiosyncratic self-expression. Perry continuously finds new ways to evoke empathy for objects, blurring lines between the worlds of cartoons and reality.
