Denmark’s ever controversial halal-meat debate raged on today as Hvidovre Hospital announced their decision to strictly serve protein prepared according to Islamic law. As many as 36 Halal-haters from SIAD (Stop the Islamisation of Denmark) gathered this evening to voice their concern.
The protest (comfortably tucked away in an unpaved parking lot behind the hospital) may have seemed like a failure to the untrained eye but not to Anders Gravers, a worryingly well-spoken chairman of Stop the Islamisation of Europe.

“As far as we’re concerned, media coverage is the success criteria for todays protest” he told us.
Amidst the Danish flag hoisting (yep,singular) and half-hearted banner waving, it became very apparent that the better half of the attendees could probably ride public transport for free on pensioner passes. The evening may have been a success by their standards but it really does seem like SIAD may be having a hard time convincing the kids that kebabs aren’t a good thing.
