Weirdcore Goes “Hi-Fi” With His Latest Music Video

We’re always happy to showcase a new Weirdcore video (Aphex Twin’s tour visualist) and this latest for Retro/Grade‘s “MindFighter” serves as a testament to the artist’s versatility. A slight departure from his trusted style, he deems it “way more hi-fi than my usual stuff, but still a bit weird”.

It starts with what looks like geometric transformers gliding across a shiny frozen lake, then pans out on a shadowy city that starts manifesting from thin air. The angular robots continue to evolve into more humanoid looking forms, cracking out of their mercury-like triangular skin, and start strutting about in this newly birthed city. Eventually, they disintegrate into trails of shiny computer-generated androgynous beings. It finishes with two of these “things” racing each other among the ruins of the shadow city before flying off into some nebulous light in the sky.

“A bit weird” may have been a bit of an understatement.
