Inside the Campaign to Save Net Neutrality

Wednesday, the Senate passed a joint resolution under the Congressional Review Act to overturn the Federal Communication Commission’s decision to roll back net neutrality protections. There’s still a long road ahead (it must pass the House and be signed by President Trump), but the action was unthinkable just a few months ago.

The whole way, Evan Greer of Fight for the Future has been there. I spoke to Greer about how you go from protest to legislation, how important this win is for overall morale, and what the next steps are.

“It’s been a massive collaboration, and it’s been a collaboration about winning back these basic protections that people deserve,” Greer said. “This is about winning back the internet for the people, for everyone to have a voice. We’re doing it in the courts, and we’re doing it in the states and we’re doing it in Congress, and we’re going to win.”
